The Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi is one of the constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University. It was started during the year 1977. It is situated in the harbor by pass road, one kilometer away from the Tirunelveli – Thoothukudi National Highway. The Library of this Institute, unique of its kind, caters to the fisheries technical needs of the user end groups of this State.
